WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT THAN OTHER PHOTOGRAPHERS?
My background is in visual arts and fashion, so I approach every session as if i'm creating an art piece, a visual representation of you! My specialty is that I take care of everything that can be daunting and stressful about getting your pictures made, from how you look to making sure every image is beautiful. Myself and Craig are non-traditional so our sessions are very relaxed and fun, never stiff.
DO YOU DO PHOTO SESSIONS WHERE YOU DON'T DO HAIR, MAKEUP AND WARDROBE STYLING?
Usually no, but if you have a specific request that doesn't take advantage of those options then feel free to shoot us an e-mail and we'll talk about it!
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO BOOK WITH YOU?
The sooner we can pick a date the better! I have clients that book up to a year in advance, so let's get your date set before it's taken!

Our sessions aren't just for women. For guys it's an even more laid back process that can be as simple as meeting at the location we choose, or I can help you choose outfits from your wardrobe, and style your hair. Regardless of either scenario, our sessions aren't cheesy or stiff!
GENERAL & BOOKING
HOW AND WHEN DO I PAY YOU?
We accept checks payable to Jesi Godwin, and cash. You pay on or before your session date, and any deposits are paid in order to retain us and reserve your date.
WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE AN EMERGENCY
AND NEED TO RE-SCHEDULE?
If you must reschedule due to an emergency that's perfectly fine, but we just ask that you give us at least 48 hours notice.
WHEN I BOOK A SESSION WITH YOU, ARE YOU THE PERSON THAT WILL ACTUALLY PHOTOGRAPH ME?
We are a husband and wife team. I do the hair and makeup, and we do the photography together.
WHAT DO I NEED TO PREPARE FOR MY PHOTO SESSION?
If we are doing hair and makeup the only thing you need to do is have a clean makeup free face, and clean dry hair. I provide everything you will need in my hair and makeup kits! If wardrobe styling is included in your session then you don't have to do anything to prepare!
I'M NOT VERY PHOTOGENIC OR COMFORTABLE IN FRONT OF A CAMERA, WHAT DO I DO?
Relax, you're in good hands! Craig and I are very personable and laid back; we don't rush you or make you feel like you have to perform. I guide you through every phase of the session to coax your best most confidant self out!
DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WAYS THAT I CAN PREPARE FOR THE SESSION SO THAT I LOOK MY BEST?
Being photo ready is something you don't have to worry about; my specialty is that I do everything to make sure you look your very best during our session! But here are some do's and dont's that might be nice to know before hand:
-Get plenty of sleep, it makes a huge difference!
-Do not get a spray tan--if you must, it's no big deal, but people photograph best if they have their natural skin tone.
-Limit sun/tanning bed exposure the few days before our session
-Make water your beverage of choice leading up to your session---again it really does make a difference.
-If you get facials, plan those at least a week before the session.
-Teeth whitening is always nice.
-Keep lips and skin well hydrated with lotion, chapstick and water.
-Check to see if finger and toe nails are clean and neat.
-If you color your hair, plan on doing it at least a few days before the session so the color has a chance to sink in and blend naturally.
HOW DO YOU DECIDE ON LOCATIONS?
We make decisions on locations by taking into account three things: 1) Any specific requests from you on the type of style you want the session to have (Rustic, Urban, Retro, Edgy, Classic, etc.) 2) What the sun light is doing at this point in the day 3) What will visually be most appealing for your coloring, wardrobe, and personality. Location selection is very laid back, very visually oriented - hop in the car and go- type process.
HOW MANY PEOPLE DO YOU HAVE WORKING WITH YOU THAT WILL COME TO THE SESSION?
My husband Craig and I do sessions together, including weddings.
DO YOU HAVE A STUDIO OR DO YOU DO EVERYTHING ON LOCATION?
We do have the gear and space to do a studio type session if that's something you are interested in, but for most sessions on location using natural light is our favorite way to go!
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE SESSION BEGINS?
If we arranged to meet at your place, then the first thing I do is go through your closet and pick out outfits with you. This sets the tone for what I do with your hair and makeup. Then, after the wardrobe is selected I do your hair and makeup. Once you are all glammed up and ready to go, we hop in the car and head to our locations! The same is true if you have arranged to come to me, except we select outfits based on what you bring along with you, so the more you bring the better!
WHY DO YOU DO HAIR AND MAKEUP INSTEAD OF HIRING SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT?
I love doing it, plus it's our little bonding time before I start shuttering away at you! And because I am a photographer, I understand what will work best in a photo to bring out your best features even more.
WHAT TYPE OF MAKEUP DO YOU USE?
I am a drug store makeup kind of girl. I have tried and true favs that I keep in my kit including many foundation shades that I custom mix for your skin tone. But if you have a particular product in your arsenal that you would prefer I use, that is perfectly fine!
DO YOU GIVE ME A RECEIPT OR INVOICE FOR OUR SESSION?
If you need a receipt or invoice we will email you a PDF version. For weddings, we always send invoices and receipts.
AFTER THE SESSION
OUR SESSION IS OVER AND IM FEELING AWESOME, BUT I STILL HAVE THESE FALSE EYELASHES ON...HOW DO I TAKE THEM OFF??
A cotton ball dipped in olive oil is the best. (Any oil besides baby oil will work) Just gently dab the oil soaked cotton ball on your lashes until they are pretty saturated and the lashes feel loose, they should gently pull right off.
DO YOU EVER NOT EDIT PHOTOS?
No, it’s part of what I do as a photographer and an artist. Taking a great quality photo and making it even more stunning is my specialty.
DO YOU LIMIT HOW MANY PHOTOS YOU EDIT, AND WHAT TYPE OF EDITING DO YOU DO?
I fully edit all the best photos from our session. Most photo sessions you get 30-60 final images on your disc, and weddings are anywhere from 200-2000. The type of photo editing I do deal mostly with the color and tone of the images to really make them pop and look awesome! Any special requests on photo editing is definitely fine, just let me know in advance if there is something particular you want and we can discuss it.
HOW DO I GET MY DISC?
If you live in Auburn, AL then we can arrange to meet you. Or, if you live anywhere else the disc will be mailed to you.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY DISC AFTER THE SESSION?
2-3 weeks after the session date for regular sessions, and 4-6 weeks for weddings.
CAN I GET MY DISC QUICKER?
Yes, we can most likely get you the disc within two days if need be. There is a rush fee of $50, so just let us know in advance if this is something you need.
CAN I GET MORE THAN ONE COPY OF MY DISC?
Yes, there is a $10 fee for each additional disc. Just let us know how many you need.
DO YOU OFFER PRINTS PACKAGES?
At this time we do not offer prints packages, but with the disc that we give you, you have the freedom to get the images printed anywhere you like, or make copies of the disc to give to friends and family.
